Job Title Area Manager, Salary range – £50-60K plus Car Allowance

Reports Site Managers
Summary of the role:

The main objective of the role is to oversee operations and cover multiple sites having accountability, and ownership of the plant’s performance and site teams ensuring that the key revenue generators are performing in line with contractual agreements signed with the customer. Driving continuous improvement across the sites as well as addressing site and HR issues communicating and raising reports to Directors operating safely and ensure operational safe operating procedure are followed and any significant concerns are escalated, as well cost control of site procurement. In addition, to provide input at the pre-project/purchase stage as part of the wider specialist team.

As an Area Manager, you will oversee AD plants in your area and have line management responsibilities for the Site Managers of those plants.

Responsibilities and key duties:

  • Conduct monthly 121 meetings with your site managers
  • Advise on and oversee the site staffing; rotas, training
  • Undertake a regular performance review of the Group’s completed renewable energy projects against operational performance KPI’s and highlight risks/opportunities using a RAG analysis. Report and present significant risks to the business,  to the EVE Board of Directors on a periodic basis.
  • Ensure each project/plant has an agreed ongoing improvement plan in place with the onsite operational team and liase with the HSEQ Team as appropriate for support.
  • In conjunction with the IT Support & Development Manager, ensure that the remote SCADA monitoring systems are in place and updated to capture and report key operational KPI’s
  • Work closely with the Programme Managers to ensure a smooth handover of newly built projects from commissioning into “business as usual”
  • Where EVE are not engaged as the Operator but are contracted for consultancy based support, assist the third party to meet the aims and objectives of the scope of the consultancy works. Ensure each project is maintaining its Regulatory and Compliance responsibilities and can demonstrate them accordingly in line with the management system requirements
  • Maintain up to date data, knowledge of all relevant government subsidies and legislation for the renewable energy sector
  • Working closely with the Finance Manager responsible for the renewable SPV’s, ensure that the management of sustainability requirements and claims is fully OFGEM compliant
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant process, engineering, technology and commercial developments within the renewable/waste to energy sector
  • Work as part of the wider commercial and technical team to undertake pre-due diligence of potential new build projects or the purchase of existing installations
  • Any other duties that maybe reasonably requested as part of the role.

  • Consultative approach to decision making and change management
  • Professional qualification in engineering, management or associated discipline.

  • Able to undertake relevant Continued Professional Development (CPD) in relevant discipline(s) and maintain a record of such with a relevant industry organisation.
  • Full clean driving licence

Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of managing end to end process/production processes in FMCG, waste, utilities or similar sectors for 5 years or more.
  • Demonstrable understanding of process engineering/technology
  • Able to work within the scope of business management, safety and compliance management systems and input to the continuous development of these systems.
  • “Hands on” rather than theoretical approach
  • Demonstrably commercially astute
  • Background in engineering would be advantageous
