Operations Director (South)
Chris joined EVE at its inception and has been an integral part of EVE’s success. Chris is a strategist, critical thinker, calm under pressure and able to adapt to the dynamic nature of AD Operations. Chris is accountable for the performance of four operational assets in the southern area of the EVE portfolio.
Chris developed his leadership skills in the Royal Navy and has applied these within EVE to foster responsible and resilient mindsets within his team. Prior to EVE, Chris worked in a number of energy sector roles gaining a depth of experience in AD Operations and Management and Process Engineering functions.
Chris holds qualifications in business management, engineering, environmental compliance and health & safety that combined with his broad practical and leadership experience within the Energy sector, uniquely equip him to lead with authority on AD operations and management.
Finance Director
Dean’s association with Renewable Energy began in November 2013, as Finance Director of a start-up company specialising in the development, construction, and operation of small footprint multi-tank AD systems. This led onto further Board level appointments within the AD sector, both executive and non-executive.
Prior to his appointment to the EVE Board, Dean was working with a leading project finance provider focusing on the financial viability of potential investments. As such, he is well aware of the challenges associated with funding an AD project, and the levels of operational performance required to service the significant debt invested into these types of projects.
As Finance Director of EVE, Dean is responsible for the finance function and is an experienced Board member. Key areas of focus include robust financial planning, cash generation with keen cost management and business process simplification.
A proven finance professional, Dean brings more than 25 years of senior level financial and management experience to his role. Dean has worked in a number of market sectors with businesses ranging from small SMEs to multi-national PLCs. He has been personally responsible for the delivery of a variety of initiatives, all of which have had a positive impact to bottom line profitability.
Dean has relevant experience of business start-ups, restructuring, acquisitions, private equity, and complex group structures. He has been directly involved in the negotiation of traditional banking facilities, project finance, lease finance and debt / equity funding. Having worked in a number of project led businesses Dean can deliver projects on time and on budget.
Operations Director (North / East)
Chris Waters has over eight years of senior leadership experience in the AD sector, having worked and maintained director / board level positions on many businesses and AD plants throughout the past 6 years.
Chris’s past experience has seen him successfully direct a large scale beef cattle farm, a digestate logistics and transport company and oversee the design and development of the UK’s first biomethane to national transmission system AD plant.
As Operations Director (North), Chris oversees operations across five different anaerobic digestion comprising of a mix of gas and electricity to grid assets, utilising multiple feedstock streams, from waste to agricultural.
Chris is also tasked with the running of upgrade and remediation projects on various plants that span from £1m to £7m in CAPEX value and is currently overseeing the operational startup of a new £18m waste energy plant.
Chris thrives in challenging situations and is extremely focused when it comes to problem solving and project management. His wide ranging experience and can do attitude has allowed him to excel within the renewables industry and has given him a solid platform of knowledge that he applies to EVE operations everyday.
HSEQ Director
As HSEQ Director for EVE, Will is responsible for health and safety management across the EVE portfolio, as well as providing health and safety consultancy services to external clients. Key areas of focus include auditing compliance management systems and reducing overall operational health & safety risk.
Will is a highly motivated and experienced compliance professional. He holds a NEBOSH diploma in occupational health and safety, a diploma in Quality Management and is a chartered quality professional, graduate member of IOSH and an associate of IEMA. Will brings a combination of 20 years of engineering, compliance and HSEQ management consultancy experience to EVE. Will has a background in energy, heavy manufacturing, and process engineering, with experience of operational, management and consultancy roles.
Will has worked in and developed teams in a variety of business setups, including traditionally structured, project focused and matrix organisations. He has successfully improved safety and compliance standards for SMEs and start-ups over the course of his career to date, establishing cross functional teams to deliver and maintain certified ISO management systems as well as embedding HSG65 principles in smaller organisations.
Will brings a knowledge of simplifying and integrating business processes, whilst ensuring compliance to legal, customer and regulatory requirements. Will has a strong background in management systems implementation, development, and continuous improvement.
Area Manager
Flavio Ascenco is an experienced manager with over 9 years of experience in the AD sector. Flavio has a strong background in food waste and is exceptionally experienced with anaerobic digestion biological factors and the compliance requirements needed to successfully operate an AD plant.
Flavio had previously delivered project expansions, optimisation of plant performance and implementation of principles that ensure the success of an AD Plant.
Amongst electrical and mechanical skills Flavio also possess a wide operational knowledge that assists him greatly when “thinking outside the box” which is needed to be progressive and successful in the renewable sector.
Flavio joined EVE in 2020 and is now assisting multiple sites across England, he leads by example and can literally perform every role related to AD, from an operator, to compliance Flavio’s “Dynamic management” approach always gives the team a winning solution.
Area Manager
Alison Dring, boldly takes on many job roles under the singular description of Area Manager; from stand-in operator to Plant Manager as well as supporting her fellow colleagues throughout EVE.
Originating from a farming background gives Alison an advantage when it comes to understanding agricultural practices and allows Alison to communicate with farmers and growers on the same level assisting with ongoing relationships and engagement on our sites.
Alison has been involved in the Renewable Energy Sector now since 1987. She feels that much has changed over this period, but one thing is for sure; we need Renewable Energy now more than ever!
Area Manager
Joining the EVE Team in 2021, Russell is an invaluable member of the area management team and brings twelve years worth of multi-discipline management experience into the EVE mix. His depth of experience includes Anaerobic digestion, in-vessel composting, materials recycling, fleet and transfer stations and production/technical QA.
During his career Russel excelled at developing significant cost reduction strategies; targeting key revenues for growth through KPI management and resource control.
Russell has also successfully administered a range of large-scale local authority contracts and small commercial acquisitions.
Feedstock & Digestate Manager
Richard Braybrooke was appointed Feedstock & Digestate Manager for Eco Verde Energy (EVE) in November 2021 after EVE’s portfolio grew beyond six sites.
He is responsible for ten AD sites feedstock and digestate management, with five waste, three agri and two waste/agri plants, totalling over half a million tonnes of feedstock and digestate across the portfolio (approximately 375,000 tonnes of food waste and 200,000 tonnes of energy crop).
Richard was previously General Manager of the Ellough plant under BioCow Ltd., then Adapt Biogas Ltd before EVE took over in December 2020.
Prior to this he was intrinsically involved in the construction, development and management of a G2G and E2G site at Fairfields Farm in Wormingford (Essex). Over a period of 5 years, with Qila Energy LLp and then Agrivert Ltd., he helped Fairfields Farm Crisps achieve their objective of generating all of their energy on the farm using sustainable technologies.
Between 2014 and 2016 Richard was the AD Planning and Development Manager for Suffolk-based green waste solutions provider, Material Change Ltd.
With his expansive experience in AD he is well placed to contribute to and enhance the growth and strategic direction of EVE.
HSEQ Manager
Christine joined EVE in 2021 and is an accomplished AD professional, bringing over 8 years of site operations experience to EVE. With a strong background in food waste plants and the challenges these create, there isn’t much operationally she hasn’t come across, or how to resolve it.
Blending this knowledge of operations and a drive for high health and safety standards, Christine is constantly looking to engage at all levels, to ensure that the health and safety standards and culture are being consistently applied and improved, in line with HSE objectives and policy.
Christine has a NEBOSH general certificate in Health and Safety, is a Technical Member of IOSH and a member of the Institute of Leadership and Management. She holds a number of technical, engineering and audit qualifications as well as a COMPEX foundation certificate.
We continuously train and upskill our staff to ensure we have a solid knowledge base. EVE offers great opportunities for all employees and sets up strong progression, great training and a structure able to do so.
